The Bleedin' Obvious

WarningFull marks to my local LA Fitness for putting up a warning cone the other day by the side of the swimming pool, telling people that the floor might be wet!

  1. Ken,

It must have come as quite a shock to find out that the floor next to the pool was wet.....I hope you have got over the shock!!!!

My favorite is the hairdryer that instructs user not to use while in the shower :)

The ambulance-chasers love this kind of thing because, when the brain-dead slip at a pool which hasn't displayed such a sign, they'll try and sue on the grounds that they didn't expect the floor to be wet because there was no sign...

  4. You are lucky still to have a swimming pool. I should have thought it would have been closed by Elf'n Safety by now.

I hope there was another sign that says "Beware of the sign".

  6. I did actually have a rather nasty bicycle accident due to a sign in Richmond Park once. Very painful, but rather hilarious..

I bought a memory card reader the other day. On the packaging it says:

"This product is not waterproof and will not function after being immersed in water.

This product is made from plastic, and will melt in contact with fire or acids"

    Useful information......

  9. I believe that during the American prohibition era you could buy packages of powder which carried the warning "Do not throw the contents into a bath of water or it will turn into beer".

I have an ASDA egg box on my desk (as a reminder of stupidity lest I forget - fat chance) that offers the 'Allergy' Advice for its contents: "Contains Egg".

Mine is a few years old now but when I last checked a few months ago ASDA still offered the same advice.

Sorry about the double post earlier, every so often Blogger seems to go off line for a few minutes, and it happened when I tried to post.

@ Grant - my local chip shop proprietor showed me one of the boxes his fish comes in. On the side it says: "Allergy Advice - Contains Fish".....

You still have a local swimming pool?

I am so glad we have these twits to tell us these things: I'd never have guessed that the floor of a swimming pool might be wet! I would suggest, however, considerably less wet than the idiot that thought it necessary to issue the warning!

Or to demolish, against the wishes of local people, so that another supermarket, office block or yuppie homes can be built on the site.
