The Dangers of Onions - Bollocks!

The above "advice" about onions has been infesting the internet for sometime, and has popped up yet again on my Faecesbook page.

I have stored cut onions in my fridge for days on end, then eaten them without any problems whatsoever.

I surmise that the "advice" is utter bollocks!

  1. Indeed it is. I've never seen that advice but like you, I have bits of onion in my fridge waiting for the next spag boll all the time.

  2. Utter rowlocks and an old wives tale. In fact, cut onions, like any other food will attract bacteria if you leave them outside the fridge. The best thing to do if you have leftover onions is to chop them, put them in a freezer container and put them in the freezer. That way they will keep for up to six months.
